Scope
We are currently moving into a new resource-phase of exploration at GFG Resources and are accepting applications for a Project/Senior Project Exploration Geologist at our projects in Ontario, Canada. The role is a full-time permanent position and will report directly to the Exploration Manager. Competitive salary, benefits package and equity participation are included. The site office is located in Timmins, Ontario and work shifts are generally 20 days-on and 10 days-off with flexibility in the work schedule depending on place of residence and seasonality of field activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities for this position are:
- Establish and maintain a safe and environmentally conscientious work environment
- Execution of field programs
- Collaborate with technical team to identify and prioritize field work and drill targets
- Core-logging, oriented core, data management and review, report writing, and compilation work
- Reporting and compilation of completed work data over several project areas
- Data input, digitization, and compilation
- Data review and 2D/3D visualization
Skills and Qualifications
The skills required for this position are generally in-line with candidates having at least 4 years of industry experience including:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology
- Skillset in data integration and preferred experience orogenic gold deposits
- Experience in field-based collection and interpretation of geological and structural data
- Background in GIS and 3D software programs such as ArcGIS Pro, Geosoft and Leapfrog
- Ability to work in a team environment based on mentoring and relationship-building
